The mission will give the opportunity to know the context of the Peruvian Amazon jungle in which  it is operative the “Project life Gianni Astrei”; to get in touch with a reality far from the urban one both in terms of the environment and in of socio – cultural level; to understand and support the psychomotor disabilities in an inaccessible and absolutely not marked by social welfare context.

Territorial context: the territory of High Amazonas is a province of Peru located in the region of Loreto and extended for 18.764 Km2.

General program ( about 15 days): we will move along a path that sees spread various villages where the children live involved in the project LIFE, stopping in three distinct territories of the top Amazonas Province of Loreto region, along the river Paranapura: Yurimaguas, San Gabriel de Verdadero and Belsapuerto. Yurimaguas it is the town where there is the rehabilitation center  “Hogar Martia de Nazaret” but also the seat of the Apostolic Vicariate which heads the Congregation of the Missionaries of Jesus that cooperates with Seeds of Peace International collaborate since a long time. At each of the three mentioned sites there is a home owned by the Congregartion where to stay and to be taken as a reference point for the duration of the trip.

It is not outlined a detailed program for specific days since the same is subject to  directions that are usually provided by the missionaries about 2/3 weeks prior the departure depending on the number of participants, of their skills but also on weather conditions. The rain in the Amazon forest may be an impediment to some journeys to be made by canoe to another village.

Fee (per person excluding flights): 30 €

Price includes: training course before departure; information kit + T- shirt Seeds Of Peace; accommodation in various locations of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Jesus; full board for every day; transportation by canoe from/to villages; transportation by car from Tarapoto to Yurimaguas and from Yurimaguas to Tarapoto.

Not included:  flight to / from Lima; flight to / from Tarapot; visa and medical insurance; all that is not contemplated in ” the price includes”.
